This century, like the century before it, saw lots of political upheaval. This century also saw vast changes in womens’ fashion. It started with the easy flowing garments of the Regency Era, moved through the Romantic Era to the wide hoops of the Antebellum Era and on to many, and some times excessive, stages of the Victorian Era. We know more about the fashions of this century by the numerious examples that have survived, in comparison to the centuries that came before. Here is where I will explore the 19th century fashions by making them.
